Rifleman's Pouch |
| Carried by colonial hunters, longhunters, scouts, and militia the rifleman's pouch was used to hold all the shooting accoutrements necessary for loading, cleaning, and repairing the flintlock rifle or musket. I make my pouches from very heavy elk or cow leather. They are lined with wool, linen, or a country type checked fabric. I sew in a gusset for extra width and a fabric interior pocket. The strap is bucked with either a handforged iron or brass period buckle. |
