Rifleman's Pouch

Carried by colonial hunters, longhunters, scouts, and militia the rifleman's pouch was used to hold all the shooting accoutrements necessary for loading, cleaning, and repairing the flintlock rifle or musket. I make my pouches from very heavy elk or cow leather. They are lined with wool, linen, or a country type checked fabric. I sew in a gusset for extra width and a fabric interior pocket. The strap is bucked with either a handforged iron or brass period buckle.
