Quivers |
The traditional woodland Indian hunting accoutrement to hold arrows. Quickly going out of style with the introduction of the flintlock firearm quivers and bows remained in use during the 18th century. I make my quivers with a semi heavy cow leather interior to hold the form and then add brain tanned deer, hides, or fur to the outside. I decorate them with an array of wampum, painting, or even quillwork. Feathers and bones can also be hung from them. I can also make them in the more flexible fashion so they basically lay flat instead of the rounded form. "Woodland Indian Quiver of smoked brain tanned deer with wampum and black bear fur." |
